Our
Story

From DIY to Tulsa's
Lawn Leveling Experts

It all started with a simple goal—fixing my own front yard. I wanted that smooth, golf-course-quality lawn where every step felt like walking on a perfect fairway. But when I went looking for the right equipment and expert help, I quickly realized Tulsa had limited options. Renting high-quality leveling equipment? Nearly impossible. Finding someone who actually knew what they were doing? Even harder.

So, like any determined homeowner, I dived in headfirst, learning everything I could about sand leveling, top dressing, and the science behind a perfectly even lawn. What started as a personal project quickly turned into a passion, and before long, neighbors and friends started asking for help with their own lawns. That’s when Tulsa Lawn Leveling was born.

Why lawn leveling?

A well-leveled lawn isn’t just about looks (though, let’s be honest, it looks incredible). It creates a smoother, healthier, and more playable surface—whether you’re walking barefoot, playing with your kids, or perfecting your short game. Think of it as having your own backyard fairway—minus the green fees.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How long does it take for my lawn to recover after leveling?
Grass typically starts growing through the leveling material within a couple of days although it may take a couple of weeks to fully recover. To speed up recovery, keep the area well-watered. In areas where the material was applied heavier, continue to lightly rake or work it into the grass to help it settle and blend with the existing soil.
  • Can I mow my lawn after leveling?
It’s best to wait at least a week before mowing to allow the leveling material to settle and the grass to establish itself.
  • How often should I level my lawn?
We recommend leveling every 1–2 years; however, some lawns can benefit from 2–3 sessions within a season, depending on what you’re trying to achieve. Be warned—once you see how smooth and lush your lawn looks, you might just develop a full-blown obsession with lawn care! Tulsa Lawn Leveling cannot be held responsible for any sudden urges to buy high-end sprinklers, research soil pH levels at midnight, or flex your yard to the neighbors. Lawn leveling addiction is real… and we fully support it!
  • What is lawn leveling, and why is it important?
Lawn leveling is the process of filling in low spots and smoothing out uneven areas in your yard to improve drainage, appearance, and overall health. A level lawn makes mowing easier, prevents water pooling, and enhances the look of your property.
  • How do I know if my lawn needs leveling?
If you notice standing water, bumpy or uneven areas, difficulty mowing, or poor grass growth, your lawn may benefit from leveling. But be warned - Leveling just once has proven to kickstart a dangerous lawn addiction!
  • When is the best time to level my lawn?
The end of spring heading into hot summer temperatures and early fall are ideal times for lawn leveling because the grass is actively growing and can recover quickly. Our assessment and leveling of your lawn depends largely on weather conditions which can always vary.
  • What materials do you use for lawn leveling?
We use a variety of high-quality sand and top soils that can also be mixed to support healthy grass growth. It really depends on your property, the issues you're trying to tackle, as well as the type of grass that you have.
  • How long does the lawn leveling process take?
The time required depends on the size and condition of your lawn. Most residential projects can be completed within a few hours to a day although larger lawns or those with more obstacles can take two to three days. We take this into consideration when providing your free service estimate.
